MaxMan Reptile Rescue has recently been working with several local churchs to offer the children and families of their
congregations a unique and exciting opportunity to meet with many of God's amazing creatures.
Our educational programs are designed to be fun, yet educational. We incorporate lessons and passages from the Bible
to share with the children that reptiles, particularly snakes, have many purposes in the Bible, often as instruments of the
Lord's designs.
For example, we explain that the snake may have been used as a representative of sin and evil in Genesis, in other
passages, the snake was a representative of the Lord's power, such as when Moses is before the Pharoh and his staff
changes into a snake - Exodus 7: 7-16
As well, we sometime include reference to Mark
16: 15-18 mentioning how others worship with serpents as a way of reinforcing the Lord's power and protection
of his followers. This is a practice common in some southern areas.
These are some of several examples we use when sharing the wonderful world of reptiles with the children.
We talk about how the animals affect our lives, our environment and our history. And we remind them that each of us has a
responsiblity as God's chosen caretakers of the animals we share this earth with.
