An important reminder: Pets are not disposable items.

That puppy, kitty or little lizard may look cute Christmas morning, but are you really ready to commit the next 15 years of your life to taking care of it. There are vet bills, food bills and the proper enclosures to consider.

Most importantly, will you all have time to commit to the daily love, care and training the animal you are considering will need.

Take time to REALLY consider whether a live animal is appropriate as a present.

Also, please know the holidays can be a very dangerous time for our beloved pets. Plants can be toxic, wrapping paper and bows can be deadly. All the family and friends visiting can be overwhelming and scary.

Check out some great tips at the below links to make sure your holidays are safe and happy for all the members of your family, especially your pets.
